Anna Paquin was born in the city of Winnipeg, but was raised in Wellington. She made her acting debut as Flora McGrath, The romantic-drama film Piano. Paquin is a native of Winnipeg was raised in Wellington and made her debut as Flora McGrath when she played the character in The Piano. She won an Academy Award at the age of 11 to be the Best Supporting Actress. Anna Paquin's full name was Anna Helene Paquin. Born July 24th 1982 on the 24th of July 1982 in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada, she was the first Canadian birthed New Zealand actress. As an infant, she won an Academy Award for best support actress. The role she played as the enthusiastic and lively character Holly Hunter played in The Piano (1993) earned her the award. In response to an audition, Flora McGrath was cast as the daughter of a Scottish piano player. After moving into New Zealand, in the United States, she became an adolescent. Paquin was Jane Eyre's title character as a teen in Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre (2000) and the main role in Fly Away Home (2000). Paquin played Frankie Addams, a character in Carson McCullers' novel The Member of the Wedding in 1997. In Steven Spielberg's Amistad in 1997 her character was the queen of Spain in a lesser character. She played teens as teens in Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (1998), A Walk on the Moon (1998) as well as Almost Famous (2000). In addition, she portrayed the groupie Polexia Aphrodisa.
