Dolly-Parton
Born on Jan. 19th, 1946, in Locust Ridge Tenn into a low-income family which would later have 12 children. Dolly Parton learned early to be free from life's hardships thanks to her expansive and imaginative imagination. Before she could write and read, she began making up her own songs. At the age of 8 at the time, she purchased her first electric guitar and began singing on the Knoxville Tenn Radio Station. The first album she recorded was that same year on Gold Band Records, a small independent label. She established herself locally while still in high school, yet she dreamed of having a larger stage. Following her graduation from highschool in 1964, she immediately moved to Nashville. Dumb Blonde, Something Fishy and Dumb Blonde both charted on Monument Records in 1967. Porter Wagoner had been looking for female performers for his show that was syndicated from the beginning. Parton accepted the role in the year 1966. She joined RCA Records in 1968, and the Grand Ole Opry was founded in 1969. But she resigned from the show in 1974, as her own releases such as Joshua Coat of Many Colors and Jolene began charting the collaborations they had with each other. Parton wrote I Will Always love You to Wagoner following their split. The song reached the top of the charts at. 1 for the first time in 1974.
