Dolly-Parton
Dolly Parton, born Jan. 19th, 1946 in Locust Ridge Tenn. to an unlucky family of twelve children that would be raised in the same household, understood very young how to overcome of the difficulties she faced thanks to her incredibly vivid imagination. Before she was able to read and write she was writing her own songs. She got her first guitar when she was just 8 years old and began her singing career on a Knoxville Tenn radio station at age 11. At the time, she also recorded her first record on Gold Band Records a tiny independent label. Although she was in school, she had established a name for herself within the local community. But her dream was to be more widely well-known. When she graduated from high school in 1964, she made the move to Nashville. Her first charting hits with Monument Records included Dumb Blonde and Something Fishy both in 1967. Porter Wagoner, a syndicated TV show host at the time, was in search for a female singer in his show. Parton took the job in the year 1966. She joined RCA Records in 1968, and then the Grand Ole Opry was founded in 1969. The show ended in 1974 as her solo songs like Joshua Coat of Many Colors and Jolene were charting collaborations with them. Parton following the breakup of their relationship with Wagoner was the one to write"I Will Never Love You and saw it climb to Number. 1 for the very first time in 1974.
