Dolly-Parton

Dolly Parton was born on January 19, 1946, at Locust Ridge Tenn. She was raised with 12 other children. Her vivid imagination was a great way to get away from the harsh realities of everyday life. Before she began learning to write or read, she was making up her own songs. At the age of 8, she acquired her first guitar. At age 11 when she was 11, she began singing on Knoxville Tenn's radio station. The same year, she released her first album on Gold Band Records a tiny independent label. As a student in high school, she became famous locally but longed to be on a bigger stage. She relocated to Nashville the day after graduating in 1964. Dumb Blonde was her first album to be charted on Monument Records. In the year 1967, Porter Wagoner was looking for an actress to sing for his TV show syndicated by the network. Parton was hired in the year 1966. She joined RCA Records in 1968, and then the Grand Ole Opry was founded in the year 1969. In 1974, she quit The Wagoner's Show due to the popularity of her individual songs, such as Joshua Coats of Many Colors or Jolene was surpassing their joint albums. Parton following the breakup of their association with Wagoner, wrote"I Will Never Love You and had it reach No. 1. for the first time in 1974.
