Dolly-Parton
Dolly Parton, born Jan. 19th, 1946 in Locust Ridge Tenn. to an unlucky family of twelve children that would be raised with them eventually. She learned young how to overcome of her difficulties with her extraordinary and imaginative imagination. Before she was able to write and read, she was writing her own songs. She got her first guitar at age 8 and began her singing career on the Knoxville Tenn radio station at eleven years old. That same year she made her first album on Gold Band Records a tiny independent label. When she was still in highschool she became famous locally however she longed for a bigger stage. After she finished her high school, in 1964, she moved to Nashville. Dumb Blonde, Something Fishy and Dumb Blonde both charted on Monument Records in 1967. Around this time, Porter Wagoner was looking for an actress to sing for his television show that was syndicated. Parton took the offer when she was signed in 1967 by RCA Records in 1968 and began singing for in the Grand Ole Opry in 1969. In 1974, she quit at the end of Wagoner's show due to the success of her individual songs, such as Joshua Coats of Many Colors or Jolene was outstripping their joint releases. Parton following the breakup of their partnership with Wagoner She wrote her hit song"I'll Always Be Loved" by You and saw it climb to Number. Its first appearance at No. 1 was 1974.
