Lucy-Liu
Lucy Liu (born Lucy Liu) is an American actor, voice actress as well as a director producer and singer. An intelligent and attractive actress she serves as an inspirational model for numerous Asian actors looking to break into Hollywood. Through a succession of appearances on popular TV shows, she gained fame as she was a part of the ensemble of the legal comedy series Ally McBeal where she played the malicious Ling Woo. The fame gained by her was translated into roles for the big screen, in Shanghai Noon, Charlie's Angels as well as other films. For Kill Bill Volume 1, Quentin Tarantino, she gave an outstanding performance as Japanese crime lord O-Ren. The actress also played the lead role in films that failed at the box office, such as Rise: Blood Hunter. After that, she was able to voice famous characters in animated films such as Kung Fu Panda and Tinker Bell. Screen roles of a smaller screen like Mia Mason in Cashmere Mafia did not yield positive results. Southland, a critically acclaimed series of police dramas that involved Liu in multiple characters, helped her establish her own identity. Liu is very careful in selecting her roles in order that she is not cast in a very competition-driven industry. Even though she's proud her background, she is determined to not allow that to limit her creative abilities.
