Lucy Liu, an American voice actress producer director and performer is also an actress. An attractive and intelligent actress, she's an example to many Asian actors that want to break into Hollywood. In the wake of a number of first performances in popular shows the actress gained notoriety as she was a part of the ensemble of the show Legal Comedy Ally McBeal where she played the evil Ling Woo. The new fame she gained was transferred to roles on the big screen for Shanghai Noon, Charlie's Angels as well as other movies. The film Kill Bill Volume 1, Quentin Tarantino, she gave an outstanding performance as Japanese crime boss O-Ren Ishii. In the meantime, she was also in the lead role in a few box office failures such as Rise: Blood Hunter. In the following years, she started to voice prominent characters in animated films, such including Kung Fu Panda and Tinker Bell. Screen roles of a smaller screen like Mia Mason in Cashmere Mafia have not produced results. Southland's critically acclaimed series on police, Southland and a recurring part in the show helped Liu establish her role as an actress. Liu is extremely cautious when making her choices so that she does not become cast in a very competitive industry.
