Lucy Liu (born Lucy Liu) is an American actor, voice actress Director Producer and vocalist. She's a beautiful, skilled actress that has inspired many Asian actors to be successful in Hollywood. Through a succession of appearances in various popular television series the actress gained notoriety when she joined the cast of the show Legal Comedy Ally McBeal where she played the malicious Ling Woo. The actress put her rapid popularity into big screen roles in films like Shanghai Noon and Charlie's Angels. She then delivered a superb performance as Japanese criminal lord O'RenIshii, in Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill Volume 1. In the same period she was playing major part in several other box office failures like Rise: Blood Hunter. In the following years, she started to voice prominent characters in animated films, such including Kung Fu Panda and Tinker Bell. Screen roles of a smaller screen like Mia Mason in Cashmere Mafia have not produced the desired results. Southland's highly acclaimed police show, Southland and a recurring performance helped Liu revive her career as an actress. Liu picks her roles with the utmost respect in order to ensure she is not marginalized in a crowded industry. Even though she's accepted her cultural roots, she hasn't let it limit her ability to express herself as an artist.
